Peek Inside A Mom’s Beauty Cabinet

I have had a few mom friends ask me what beauty brands I simply can’t live without and while my beauty cabinet may look like a drugstore, there are some products that I just swear by and today I am here to spill the beans….

So here’s your chance to take a peek inside my beauty cabinet and take note of my holy-grail products that every mom on the go should run out and purchase today.

On getting that flawless, fresh-faced look…

Egyptian Magic ($28) is just like petroleum jelly, but it has a looser, more watery texture-it’s very spreadable and a little goes a long way. It has no fragrance and taste. It’s actually an all- around cream for the skin that’s meant to remedy chafed skin, chapped lips, minor bruises, cuts, wounds, and any minor epidermal condition. It’s ideal for pulling off that really fresh, dewy look in the cheeks and eyelids.  It reflects the light in a natural-looking way.  just like a cheaper version of Lucas Papaw and Rosebud Salve, but with more natural ingredients.

MAC Fix+ Skin Refresher / Finishing Mist ($40) is to be applied before or after makeup to freshen up your face. The description on the back of the box states: “A soothing moisture mist that refreshes the skin and finished makeup. Hold bottle 12″away from face and spray evenly. Use before or after makeup” and rightly so this is the best product to use in the morning when you just had an all nighted with a crying baby.

On current favorites…

With kids in tow who has the time to apply makeup?  Trust me, with these favorite makeup mainstays your look will remain flawless and appear that you have the right stuff…

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat ($30) There’s just nothing else exactly like it.  No other formula has the perfect mix of pink and blue light-refracting pigments — it’s just so balanced! Any fine lines or imperfections in skin texture are just blown out by the light. I always use it under the eyes.

nars

NARS The Multiple in Copacabana ($39) Be it in Multiple or Liquid form, you can always tell when a look was created using Copacabana. Started by patting the cream format onto the high points of the face, and then, once all the makeup is complete, use an application with the liquid for added radiance. You can also add it to the tops of the eyes instead of using eyeshadow.   (Do try this the morning after a late night — you’ll look instantly awake.)

babylips

Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm ($3).  If you are looking for a product that won’t break the bank and will give you the “glossy eye” look try Baby Lips by Maybelline.  Its great for creating a dewy sort of eye look. And, it’s so nice to put lip balm on the lids, I think — it moisturizes them and feels refreshing.

On getting rid of that baby puke smell…

BB

Bumble and bumble Prep ($21) I call it liquid conditioner. It has vitamins in it, so I can spray it all over the hair to rinse out any product residue and start with a clean canvas.  Think of it as dry shampoo…minus that whole dry part.

Mani Musts….

The one nail polish shade you’ll every need…

nail

Essie Nail Polish in Mademoiselle ($6) This nail polish is subtle, clean and always pretty.
