After a long hiatus, I’m baaacckk and coming back strong!  This POSH mom has been fighting a cold for weeks while trying to keep up with a very now active 11 month old.  And blah blah blah, I am now back and there’s so much catching up to do…

Here’s some POSH celebrity mom sightings that you might find uber fab!

It’s that time of year and First lady Michelle Obama (mom to daughters Malia and Sasha) speaks about the Toys for Tots program at the White House in Washington on December 1, 2010.  Looking fab!

Halle Berry (mom to Nahla) attended the premiere of Frankie and Alice in Los Angeles wearing a flashy brocade suit from Balmain’s fall 2010 collection.

Salma Hayek (mom to Valentina) graces the cover of Spanish V magazine while wearing Alexander McQueen – she looks fierce.

Sarah Jessica Parker (mom to son, James and twin daughters, Marion and Tabitha) has been spotted with the family attending the premiere of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1’ at Alice Tully Hall on November 15 in New York City.  In other SJP news, the Observer and Post report that SJP actually might be, finally moving uptown, she’ll have Lorne Michaels as a neighbor – maybe she can campaign about her being a guest on SNL!

Fashion icon and new host of Bravo TV’s The Fashion Show, Iman, graces the cover of the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar.  Iman dishes the dirt about her 18 year marriage to rocker hubby, David Bowie, her new gig on Bravo TV, cooking and what is the worst thing about being a parent.

I am so loving the spread.  After reading the Harper’s Bazaar interview I’ve realized that not only is Iman beautiful, but really down to earth, just your typical wife and mom…and that’s what being POSH is all about!

Parenthood:

The worst thing about being a parent…The early mornings. There is soccer and music class at 7:30 A.M. Remember, I am 55. I can only take so much!

Marriage:

David doesn’t fight. He is English, so he just stays quiet. I’m the screamer. Then he always makes me laugh. It’s like cabaret. I keep him entertained too. I still fancy him—totally!—after all these years.

Role Model:

My father. He taught me how to be a parent and gave me a positive connection with men because he is a gentleman. And that is what attracted me to David. He is a gentle soul.

What’s for Dinner:

I vowed to myself when I got married that I would cook every night. I find it very therapeutic…tonight is Branzino with lemon. And David likes risotto, but I can’t do risotto tonight. It takes time, and I have homework to do with my daughter. Maybe a salad and orzo. And David buys dessert.

Am I the only mom out there that is not loving daylight savings time? I remember a time (10 months ago, to be exact!) that daylight savings time was a celebration…sleeping an extra hour was pure bliss, but now as a mom who is trying to get her little one on a sleep schedule, daylight savings time has become my worst nightmare.

I grew accustom to the fact that Lil’ B would wake up at 3:30am and then at 7am, but now with the time change, his little inner clock has woken him up at 2:30a and at 6:30..ugh!  what is a mom to do?

In my research, it turns out that I am not alone…there’s even a Facebook page dedicated entirely to the cause: Mothers Against Daylight Savings Time. With 1,293 members. That’s exactly the place where I can bitch and moan!

I have already had three cups of coffee and its only 9:30a…it’s gonna be a long day!

How do you feel about Daylight Savings Time? Is your household affected much?  Drop a line to gina@mommyposh.com and your comment can be featured on Mommy Posh.
