Will this change your feelings about alcohol and pregnancy? Or will a pregnant woman holding a glass of red wine still set off your alarm bells? – yes, talking to you

You be the judge.

Gotcha!!  Last month, paparazzi caught Actress, Kate Hudson drinking – which appears to be red wine – while pregnant with her second child.  Kate is amongst a few moms-t0-be who feel that drinking a little somethin’-somethin’ is quiet alright.  Well is it really? according to a study released in The Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health suggests this it might be just fine.

Researchers at University College in London concluded that the children of women who drank “lightly” — meaning up to one to two drinks a week — during pregnancy did no worse on cognitive tests at age 5 than children of mothers who did not drink at all. Actually, they did slightly better on the tests, which included things like “naming vocabulary,” “picture similarities” and “pattern construction.”

The latest trend in maternity over sharing is happening on YouTube, called  “WombTube” — expectant moms, revealing their positive pregnancy tests in public video clips. And it doesn’t stop there. Many of the women who choose to record themselves dipping a stick in their own urine and then post it for the world to see continue to vlog their pregnancy in weekly installments. From bump growth to cravings, it’s all out there.  Here’s one vlog we thought you may find tasteful or distasteful…you be the judge.

MommyPoshers, let’s hope that is not the latest trend in parenting – ok, before you become judgmental of this craze with celebrity moms and their sons, let me explain where it all began…the newest ad campaign from our fellow friends at J Crew shows a top designer painting her son’s toes pink!  The ad reads “Lucky for me, I ended up with a boy whose favorite color is pink.  Toenail painting is way more fun in neon.” – ok, now you can begin with the judgements.  I’m all for expressing yourself, but this seems a little too much for me.  In doing my research, I began to realize that this trend is not new for many celebrity moms.  Singer, Gwen Stefani and hubby, Gavin Rosedale’s son Kingston, 4, has been photographed getting manis and pedis (and not with clear topcoats either). It appears that he goes for the multi-colored look!

I like to think of myself as a fashion forward mom, but this is not one trend that I am jumping the band wagon on…are your ladies?

Also, Miz diva herself and People’s Most Beautiful Women in the World, Jennifer Lopez is another celebrity mom who paints her son’s nails. “Because for him, it’s just paint,” J.Lo tells People magazine of her 3-year-old son, Max, with Marc Anthony. “He’s like, ‘I want the blue!’ Then Marc is like, ‘Why are Max’s nails painted?!’ But he won’t sit still so it’s only like two nails.”

Um, am I the only one not really feeling this look???!  Are you a fan of painting your boy’s fingernails pink or even blue?

Here’s another round of Halle Berry vs. Gabriel Aubrey in the nasty custody battle over their 3-year-old daughter Nahla.

Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry, 44, has decided she can’t do her first Broadway play, The Mountaintop, a fictional account of the night before Martin Luther King Jr.‘s assassination (Samuel L. Jackson is set to star as MLK Jr.) as she blames her ongoing legal battle with ex Gabriel Aubry, 35.

“Ms. Berry would not be appearing in the role due to child-custody issues,” the producers of the show said in a statement. Halle was set to play a maid at the Lorraine Hotel in Memphis, where King was assassinated.

This the second role Halle has had to drop due to her custody battle. In February, she gave a role in New Year’s Eve to actress Katherine Heigl as Gabriel demanded she couldn’t travel cross-country to New York with Nahla. After the court eventually sided with her, Halle took another part in the film.

Let’s just hope that Nahla has not been affected by this uproar between her parents…guess we’ll soon see!

Although it seems so far away, high school and college is just around the corner for your little ones, so why not get an early start and set up a savings plan.  An example, of a kid-friendly education savings plan is the 529 Plan which is designed to help families set aside funds for future college costs.

So when I heard that Tom Cruise gave his daughter, Suri, a multi-million dollar check for her upcoming fifth birthday I couldn’t be even more jealous.  Five million dollars to be exact.  Damn, I really need to get ahead of the game.

“Tom decided to add $5 million — in honor of her milestone birthday — to Suri’s trust fund,” a family insider tells OK! Magazine. “She already has several million in the fund.”

And although it seems out of control, it isn’t. Suri “won’t be able to touch the money until she’s 18,” the insider adds.

“Tom wants to make sure Suri’s future is worry-free financially,” the insider explains.

Whatever amount you decide to contribute to your child’s savings plan – from $100 to $5 Million – the point is that you are getting the ball rolling, so hat’s off to ya!
