So its the end of another week and my friend over at Not So Silent Mommy wanted me to follow her lead by sharing with you the things I learned this week..OK, so here it goes:

1. Yikes!  my son is growing so fast, soon he’ll become a man and marry a woman that I know I won’t like. Yes, he’s only 17 months, but I gotta be prepared.

2. Sorry Elmo, but my toddler has moved on (See #1). Next up on the soon to be forgotten toys we will buy – Thomas The Train.

3. Who knew that milk throw up could smell so rancid.  Gross.

4. I need to schedule more playdates for my son…this way he gets to play and I can enjoy a glass of wine!

5. Don’t take anything or anyone for granted.

I have posted several times about my advocacy for breastfeeding, but moms I didn’t always feel that way.

At first, breastfeeding seemed like a choir, a choir that caused me to leak, squirt and chaff.  Sorry to have painted that vivid picture, but moms-to-be you need to know. Also getting my son to latch on was indeed a task in its itself. Ok, so maybe “love” is a strong word for the title of this post, but by reading on you will understand.

Take it from me, its a road that not every moms ventures, but if you do then this post is for you.

So here are my 10 reasons why I loved to breastfeed my son.

1. Instant Weight Loss: Forget the gym, I was able to loss 10 pounds in just a few short weeks of breastfeeding.

2. Talk About Multitasking:  With the help of my My Breastfriend, a cool nursing pillow, I was able to sip on water, chat on the phone and read a book.

3. Instant Bonding Moments: I loved gazing into my son’s eyes, playing with his toes and holding his hands while breastfeeding.  Sorry Dads!

Heidi Klum, 38 knows how to live the Mommy Posh lifestyle….she wears many hats: mom of four, Project Runway host, designer, blogger, and Victoria’s Secret Angel..whew, I got tired just writing that.  So in order to show how this POSH mom is able to do it and still look glam the team behind the famous Milk Mustache “got milk?” Campaign has decided to show her getting glammed up for her Hollywood gigs in her newest Body by Milk ad.

Klum is promoting lowfat milk via the brand’s Facebook page, where she discusses how it keeps her looking and feeling her best amidst a busy schedule. In a video on the page, Klum says, “I think milk is very important because it has a lot of nutrition — vitamin D, calcium. It’s good to remind people to drink more of this good white stuff called milk! Don’t forget about it! It’s natural and good for you. I drink it at home, and my children drink it.”

ShāToBu – The Workout You Wear™ – is the first-ever shaper that helps women shape, tone muscle and burn more calories during everyday activities.  Say what? an undergarment said to give women a sleeker silhouette, well this I had to try!

When the folks from ShāToBu reached out to me with a product claiming that it can help me burn calories while shaping my hips, thighs and tummy, I could not wait any longer. Especially since my body is no longer of a 21 year old and a mom to a 16 month old, what did I have to loss?

So is slimming down really as easy as wearing a girdle? Researchers from the University of Virginia seem to think so. “We tested this shapewear garment under controlled scientific conditions and showed that when women wore ShāToBu, the energy expenditure increased significantly during walking, which translates to more calories burned,” said Arthur Weltman in a press release for the company.

I was given the waist to knee shaper, $48 to try-on (which is your traditional bicycle short garment). After I broke into a sweat from the grunting and wiggling from trying on the garment (is this the beginning of the weight loss?) I checked myself out in the mirror and was surprised, damn, I looked sexy and skinny!  The shaper rested above my belly, with no feeling of discomfort or tightness around the leg or belly portion, as one would expect from a shapewear.

So after wearing the shaper all day and incorporating it in my daily activities (running errands, going to the gym, playing with my toddler) I soon forgot that I even had on a body shaper as it was very comfortable and fitted my body like a glove.  I also felt like I was wearing resistance, which made me feel like I was getting a overall body workout.  What did suck for me was the bathroom breaks.  Remember when I said that I broke out into a sweat from trying it on? well, I broke out in even more of a sweat after pulling them up after my bathroom breaks. No pain, no gain, right? right!

So after a long day of breaking into sweats, feeling a overall body workout, I did feel 10 pounds thinner with no indent around my middle or leg area after taking it off.

So all in all, this is must-have product!  Its innovative and one a kind.

ShāToBu ranges from $48-$58, thights from $34-$38 and is available at www.shatobu.com.

Pros:  bulge-free, does not roll down, makes you look and feel 10 pounds thinner

Cons:  Can be difficult putting on (worse than putting on pantyhose), you have to wear everyday in order to see accurate results.
