I’ve just spent the last 24 hours trying to rock, canoodle, soothe, even medicate (tylenol drops for my son and wine for me) my 9 month old and as he tries to overcome his teething milestone. Yikes! During Lil B’s last visit to the Pediatrician she was with glee when she announced to me that his upper middle two teeth are coming in. As a parent, I was so excited that he was conquering yet another milestone without any fuss or fury. But I spoke to soon. Heartache and tears soon followed (and that’s just me).
After consulting my baby bible What to Expect the First Year I discovered that one of more of the following symptoms had occurred. Is you lil one also conquering this “miserable” milestone, check out these sure fire symptoms to tell:
- Drooling
- Chin or face rash
- A little cough
- Biting
- Pain
- Irritability
- Refusal to Feed
- Diarrhea
- Low-grade fever
- Wakefulness
- Gum Mahatma
- Ear pulling or cheek rubbing
If you baby is experiencing the above (with a fever) CONSULT your baby’s physicians first before trying out these remedies:
- Something to chew on
- Something to rub against
- Something cold to drink
- Something cold to eat
- Something to relieve the pain (consult your physician first)

Good Luck!
