By now you have been following my son’s Kindergarten school projects from Turkey in Disguise to decorating your gingerbread man and today I’ll be sharing with you our 100th Day of School project, as well as, some cute and cleaver ones found over the web.
The 100th Day of School project is a collection of anything that is 100. The 100th day gives your child many experiences with counting to 100. One classroom created a photo activity called “When I am 100 years old…” – which turned out really cool. Another also glued 100 cheerios , fruit loops, or 100 hearts tee.
Inspired by this blogger, Lil B and I created our own “100 Penny Letter“. With so many coins saved up since the hubby and I got thought we thought this would have been a great way to tell a story. We were able to find pennies of Lil B’s birth year (2009).
We headed to my favorite fabric store and picked up these three items.
ONE // Wood Letter
TWO // Home Decor Chalk (Black)
THREE // Mini Glue Gun
Step 1: Paint the entire letter. Here I used Home Decor Chalk in black. We figured it would it would give a great pop to the copper pennies.
Step 2: Layout Pennies. Let paint dry for 30 minutes to an hour before applying the pennies. Once the paint dried, I laid out the 100 pennies on the letter to ensure spacing and layout of the design.
Step 3: Now Begin To Glue. Now that the paint has dried and the pennies have been laid out, now you begin to glue to the pennies. I’ve tried other adhesives but the glue gun kept on the best adhesion.
Happy 100th Day of School!
